5. SUBSTITUTIONS

5.1 Informing the League hosts
All substitutions should immediately be posted in the FBL substitutions forum thread. This enables fixtures and the web site to be updated promptly. Failure to do this could be considered adversely should the game remain unplayed and proceed to default.

5.2 Informing the opposing clan
All substitutions should also be immediately be communicated to the opposing clan. It is advised to use both the clan forum thread as well as offline messages for this, to allow information to reach the affected player as soon as possible. Failure to do this could be considered adversely should the game remain unplayed and proceed to default.

5.3 Substitution limit
There are no limits on the number of substitutions or swaps that can be made in any fixture.

5.4 Deadline for substitutions
Substitutions may be done at any time during each fixture. Clans are encouraged to make their substitutions as early as possible though, leaving as much time for the game to be played as possible. The timing of any substitutions made is considered in a defaulted game (see Rule 8.5.6).

5.5 Required approval
Substitutions are not subject to approval by anyone.

5.6 Substituted players' eligibility
A player who has been substituted is eligible to be substituted back in to play the same game type or in any other game type of that fixture. A substitution is considered official from the moment it has been posted in the forum.

5.7 The making of subs
Only the Captain or Vice Captain of a clan can make substitutions and swaps. The only exception to this is deadline day, where anyone in the clan may make a substitution or swap to avoid a game going to default.

5.8 Swapping two players
As a means to combat time zone problems, reduce the need for the making of multiple substitutions or other similar situations, clans may swap two of their players within a match if this improves chances of games getting played.
